Accessibility

Since VSCode is more of a sourcecode editor than an IDE it's easier to learn and familiarization will be quick. VSCode is used a lot and has a big community therefore support is very accessible on the internet.

Future-oriented

VSCode is capable of LaTeX, Markdown, git and much more making it an allrounder environment not only for the teamproject but also for other projects and homework. It is a useful skill to be able to use VSCode as a computer scientist.
