Suggest to add to FAQ: Why is Citizen Science important?

The FAQ at https://eu-citizen.science/faq/ answers many useful questions about Citizen Science. However, what I think is missing, is the question (and answer to) the question: 'Why is Citizen Science important?'

I want added to the FAQ the question and answer to the question: 'Why is Citizen Science important?'

Describe alternatives you've considered

I can find it elsewhere in academic papers, but I wonder what the EU CS platform thinks here.

Additional context

I am the founder of an Open Science community in Uppsala (Sweden) and we'll be discussing Citizen Science this Friday.
