Hi,
I would like to contribute and make some changes to the Hardware. Could you please also upload the KiCAD project?
Changes I propose:

  • Have a soldered jumper to also run GPS off of 5V or 3.3V.
  • Have rounded corners.
  • More ground vias.
  • Some mechanical support for the PCA9685 board on the other side.
  • More explanation of pins (on the back side is plenty of space).
  • Have an option for THT resistors (would just be nice).
  • Maybe have a connection for SBUS input (I think this is also just an UART RX).
  • Change some inconsistencies in naming on the PCB.
  • Change some inconsistencies in parts selection (why is "RCIN" and "PM" and "NOTIFY" a different type of connector?).
  • Change Layout slightly to not have a screw hole under baro.
  • Is R2 really 460R and not 470R? And if that is an I2C pullup, why isn't that routed directly to 3V3 but rather through 10kR to 5V? I2C pull-ups should also be 4k7R, I think.
  • Some routing seems a bit off regarding angles and alignment.

I would really like to help here creating a hardware version 0.2.1 without any functional changes.
Best Regards
Sam

Thank you for being interested in improving OBAL.
That would be greate.
OBAL is completely open source and it is designed using EASYEDA.
