Instead of using PIL, is it possible to used pillow (https://pypi.python.org/pypi/Pillow/2.0.0) ? pillow supports python 3.x.

Absolutely, it seems like a wonderful idea! If you do not feel like

Will try. Had some issues with getting the training working for the new font.
