As of March 31st, Dark Sky was bought by Apple and has stop accepting new signups for their API. Further, the API is going to be depreciated by the end of 2021. Are there any plans to use a new API? More info here: https://blog.darksky.net/

My suggestion is one call weather api.

What about an alternate service such as forecast.io ?

Isn't forecast.io literally darksky? It wouldn't work if that's the case.

I suggest using OpenWeather. It is a free, open sourced api for weather. https://openweathermap.org
