As one of those confused users, I think this is a great idea! It's confusing and scary to take manual action during a process which you are used to not interrupting.
I would like to add that it would be helpful if the hint would explain what one should expect to see when pressing the reconnect button (namely a list of devices from which one should choose the device to flash to).
This would also make it more clear when one doesn't see what should be expected.
For those cases any hints on resolving reconnection issues may also be helpful.
For example: I myself got stuck installing GrapheneOS after the device rebooted to fastbootd but it no longer showed up in the list of devices to reconnect to. I was unsure if I actually got stuck or should wait for something to happen. After three attempts of consistently getting stuck at this point, I decided to unplug and replug the device, which apparently gave the kick needed to make the device show up in the list again.
Add a description to the prompt to reconnect device when flashing from from another Android device.
The description could say something like: "Your device has been restarted. Tap the reconnect device button to continue with the flashing".
Users who have previously flashed from a PC are frequently puzzled by the prompt to reconnect device when flashing from another Android device.
