Is FEMFX dead? #16
Comments
PhysX 5 looks not much better. |
As far as I know a bunch of the developers behind FEMFX at AMD (Eric Larsen and co.) have left AMD, so it is unlikely that further development is going to happen in the near future. Unsure about the status of open-source contributions on this repo too; right now not much is known. And yeah, PhysX 5 is also being held hostage by NVIDIA in Omniverse... the future isn't looking terribly bright for physics middleware. |
Since the open source, and it has been announced, it should not be hidden, and there is only one new feature in Omniverse that can be found. Many of the functions on the physx page did not appear in Omniverse. According to the description of the developer, I think it is more like in development, and the SDK will be launched until all the functions are completed.Although we don't know how long we will wait. |
Physx5's SDK is also launched now https://github.com/NVIDIA-Omniverse/PhysX |
Can we expect any further development on FEMFX?
