Most likely this was because of gnome removed a bunch of icons from adwaita-icon-theme before it was properly shipped by gtk see the relevant issue https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gtk/-/issues/4754 the fix have not made it into a release yet but distros like archlinux have picked up the fix https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gtk/-/commit/5a0ffbbb4568e39bdf26006e1bf18c1c1d0d597a archlinux/svntogit-packages@b7367fe
This would probably mean that adwaita-qt need to ship/point to those icons instead?
