Hi there, sorry for the late reply. I kept this open to remind myself that I wanted to update Paletti from GTK3 to GTK4, and after this I would take a look at flatpak.

I just updated the repository with a GTK4 version which also fixes some bad bugs (but not all former features are brought over yet). I also added a build step (make flatpak) to dist/Makefile which seems to build a flatpak version, but unfortunately I was not able to get it to run. If I try to run this version from the command-line, I receive this error:

Unable to init Broadway server: Could not connect: No such file or directory

(Paletti:2): Gtk-WARNING **: 12:44:29.698: cannot open display:

Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with the latest GNOME and/or Linux development anymore, so I don't really know what Broadway has to do with flatpak and whether it's the fault of the system that I'm building this on or something with Paletti itself. Perhaps you have more luck in getting this flatpak version to run?

Alternatively, if your request is because you want to try out Paletti but couldn't build it, let me know your system and I'll try to write a tutorial.

Once again, sorry for the late reply, and even though I couldn't help with flatpak yet, I hope that Paletti's update to GTK4 is at least a small step in the right direction.

Hello 4 years later! I just updated the GTK version, and was able to build a Flatpak out of it!

If you are still interested, you can download a .flatpak file from the latest release: https://github.com/Eroica/Paletti/releases/tag/v2024.04a

Let me know if there are any problems with it. I was able to use it on my test machine, but I'm not 100% sure whether I set up everything correctly.
