Is there a better way to use different values for preprocessors in a recipe?

If, for example, I wanted to use the convert_units preprocessor for different variables, is there a better way to represent this than creating two different preprocessors, e.g.

preprocessors:
  convert_units_tas:
    convert_units:
      units: degress_C
  convert_units_pr:
    convert_units:
      units: mm

Or is the above the most efficient way?

As far as I understand, that's the way. I think if you have multiple steps and then just want to change the units you could do

preprocessors:
  annual_globe: &regrid
    regrid:
      target_grid: 1x1
      scheme: linear
  annual_tropics: &tropics
    <<: *regrid
    extract_region: 
      start_longitude: -180
      end_longitude: 180
      start_latitude: -30
      end_latitude: 30
