This is a project note for an earlier conversation about binding Unicode characters to keyboard keys/combinations/extensions, mouse buttons, or by using binding software to help replace current double hyphens -- to various single long hyphens (this is an en dash) – (this is the em dash) — (this is the horizontal bar)

09:16:2016 - 11:55AM Will edit with more information at a later time.

Edit 1 (09:16:2016 - 9:08PM) Here is some of the information I promised I would find.
Here is this massive Unicode resource chart. The highlighted section, General Punctuation , contains various forms of the "dash" as it is referred to. Here are two other sources that go into more detail, both are wikis so I suggest also looking deeper into the subject but for an overview these should work fine.

Edit 2 (09:16:2016 - 9:31PM) I have located some basic input and keybinding advice, though I am unsure if it would be the most in depth tutorials. With any luck trial and error may lead somewhere, but I would suggest speaking with other coders (or even look around here on GitHub) for more up front details.

Hopefully some of this information helps, if not at least it was an interesting search.
