Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open couchers.org on iOS Safari
  2. Click Share > "Add to Home Screen" (this is required e.g. for notifications)
  3. Open the page from the home screen

Results:

There is no way to go back (except swiping from the left edge, which is tricky and non-intuitive):

On web the browser has a back button:
