Error: PlatformException(Error, NETWORK_ERROR : 7: , null, null)

Hello everyone,
I'm getting the same error as in the title, even though my device is connected to the internet (I've also gotten my nonce from my server) and I've added the internet permission to both my debug and release Android.xml files. Any idea on what I can do? (I've verified GooglePlayService availability).
The error pops up as soon as I run: SafetynetAttestation.safetyNetAttestationJwt(my-base64-encoded-16bit-nonce).

Apparently, you can't use key restrictions, or else it doesn't work.
