Officer elections are given to be "majority vote of the nominees by active members", but doesn't cover the case if all nominees fail to gain a majority (51%) vote. Possible solutions can be a runoff election between the two with the most, a decision by a third-party, or implementing an alternative vote or multiple-vote system.

I recommend borda count, or approval rank choice voting. Of the rank choice schemes these are the simplest to explain and to score. Approval voting will select the conducet victor (i.e. the person who would win in any 2 person race with other candidates), but doesn't allow people to express preferences between candidates. Borda Count is a variant of approval voting that allows preferences between candidates, but doesn't always select a conducet victor.
