Hey guys,

as preparation with the upcoming meeting I'm leaving some ideas and todos here on what would need to be done in the next couple of days / weeks in order to make progress on this front.

Rewriting the android app is going to be a major task and will include, but is not limited to

  • Deciding upon which ecosystem to use (e.g. React Native vs. Android Native vs. ...)
  • Designing the overall application architecture
  • Deciding on which language to use (Java, Javascript, Kotlin, ...)
  • Deciding which frameworks to make use of
    • Http Requests
    • Database Model
    • Error Reporting
    • Pushnotifications
    • Location Services
    • UI
  • See if / what of the existing code base can be reused (e.g. UI elements?)
  • Coming up with tasks from the things above and how to implement them
  • Assign tasks to members in in android team
  • Giving an estimate on what will take which time
  • Creating GH Issues for most of the stuff that is said above in order to properly keep track of whats going on --> Might be a good idea to create a milestone for this when concrete tasks are decided upon
