Logging out of the app does not work

Minimal steps to reproduce

While I am able to log out of the web app using a laptop, while using safari on my mobile, I am not able to logout of the app after clicking logout button.
On clicking logout, the page reloads and logs me back in.

Any log messages given by the failure

Expected/desired behavior

On log out, I should be logged out of the application and the home page should be loaded

OS and Version?

Windows 7, 8 or 10. Linux (which distribution). macOS (Yosemite? El Capitan? Sierra?)
