When registering to check it out, the registration was superwonky and the login even more so. It did not work to login but for some reason getting back an closing the app and reopening got me.logged in again?

Cannot remember, was some weeks ago unfortunately, so cannot prvide info to reproduce.

Tried it with Android and the f-droid version.

I assume this was a one time thing that can't be reproduced?
