Data Resources for teaching Data Science #3
Comments
Any ideas of sources of data sets ? Preferably i like to work with data sets that also have some sort of social good. |
Some ideas, even if they aren't the sets you're looking for: http://cooldatasets.com/ |
https://www.kaggle.com/ also has interesting data sets. I hadn't heard of cooldatasets.com - thanks for the heads up @jonocarroll |
Here's what I point my students towards |
after a discussion with Di this afternoon, I might look at expanding the example datasets that are available within some packages. For example something that compliments mtcars. I'm particularly interested in environmental datasets |
Not exactly what you're looking for Jesse, but the World Bank has a large collection of data series, including sections on Climate Change, Environment, Health, Labor & Social Protection, Poverty and Social Development. |
I'm interested in pulling together a resource of datasets that can be used for teacher and learning. Ideally we would identify some key points that are common teaching problems and then develop data sets that align with those key points. I'd like to focus on environmental and other 'social good' datasets. Also be interested in local Brisbane datasets.
