At the Ocean-team workshop, it was suggest we make a basic recipe template for the preparation materials to do analysis.

it would cover:

  • opening an already generated intake-esm datastore for the experiment being analyses
  • opening data from an existing model run in the access-nri intake catalog (e.g. om2 or cm2 output)
  • doing a search and creating an xarray dataset

This is different to https://github.com/ACCESS-NRI/access-eval-recipes/blob/40cf459910c8c287faeb62d15f06cfd34b49a4c4/building_a_catalog_simplified.ipynb in its after the datastore is created.

Do you have an example of this already @charles-turner-1 ?

I don't have one yet, but it would be straightforward to create one.

I'm assuming we would be want to be using the convenience function workflow we've been scoping out in access-nri-intake-catalog #274, right?

Oh I was thinking we would do one now, and update when 274 is implemented ?
