Long time support ?

Hi, I have some questions about long term support

I'm currently interresting about polygon edge to build a permissioned blockchain and I've also read some information about supernets and I found this in the FAQ section :

Additionally, because the legacy Edge client will no longer be supported, developers are encouraged to transition to Supernets for ongoing support and development.

And I want to know if this true ? Because I can't use it for a production product if it's no longer support in 1 year...
